However, I did leave one thing out of my last post that is a pretty major update with me. Like I have mentioned before, I work in a coffee shop with in a grocery store, which happens to be Wegmans Food Markets (aka the god of all grocery stores). I have worked there for the past 8 years, making my way around the store from cashiering, to working in the Deli, then Prepared foods, then the Coffee Shop. And most recently, I decided I would like to keep moving up with in Wegmans, because it really is such a great company to work for (in fact, it has been a Fortune 500 company for the past 16 years as of 2013). But with the job market being so dumb lately, I figured, why not shoot for Corporate Wegmans? So this became my goal as of a few months ago, and I started looking for opportunities to grow with in the company, and sort of start the stepping stones towards my ultimate goal.
Luckily, a few weeks ago, a posting went up for a Front End Coordinator position at my store. This basically puts you a step below the Service Team Leaders (aka managers), and a step above cashiers. You help coordinate the cashiers to what ever registers they have to go to, you send them on breaks, and you help them out when ever they need assistance with a customer or their register. I had been hoping for an opening in this position to come up, so when it did, I was ON it. I applied right away, and through out that same week, I had the store manager, assistant store manager, front end manager, and HR Director all approach me making sure I had applied for the position because "my name was being thrown around" for the job. Following that week, I had the chance to interview for the position, and two days later (Valentines Day), I found out I got the job!
Now, I don't have many moments where I am genuinely proud of myself, but this was definitely one of those moments where I really commended my efforts to land this position, and I did not hide my excitement about it.
I haven't started yet, but Tuesday, March 5th, is my first day! I am a little nervous, since everyone is saying "I've got this"... It's putting some pressure on me to make sure, well, that I really do "got this". Hopefully all goes well, and I can continue on to become a Service Team Leader next!
So that's my mini update, I thought I'd keep you all in the loop. So wish me luck!
PS. Sorry for the lack of pictures...I've been cat sitting for the past week, so I guess I can show you how that's going:

| This cat likes to just look longingly into my eyes... |

| Oh yes, that's the spot. |
Also, if you haven't figured out by the title, I enjoy cat puns.
That's all for *meow.

Congrats again! That's awesome that you are so highly regarded by management - should make moving up through the ranks pretty smooth! Starting a new job is always scary but I'm sure you'll be great!
